Lucille Madison, 90, of Monroe, died at 8:45 PM, Friday, January 19, 2007 in the Mercy Memorial Hospital where she had been for 8 days. She had been in poor health for a year and seriously ill for 3 months. Friends may call during Family Hour, Tuesday, 12-1 PM at the Bacarella Funeral Home, where services will be held at 1 PM. The Rev. Alfred Overstreet of Evangelistic Ministry, Monroe will officiate followed by burial at Roselawn Memorial Park, LaSalle. She was born March 27, 1916 in Dancy, AL to Alonzo and Myra (Williams) Pippens. She was married to Eddie Adams in 1935 in Alabama, she then married Jeffery Madison in 1958 in Toledo. He preceded her in death. She came to Monroe in 1957 from Alabama, and was a homemaker, a member of the Second Missionary Baptist Church, and enjoyed cooking, yard work, and spending time with her family. Survivors include 2 sons, Willie Clark and Michael (Penny) Madison, both of Monroe, 3 daughters, Martha Hoskins of Monroe, Henrietta Hoskins of Lawton, OK, and Patricia Garrett of Detroit, a sister, Hattie Hobson of Monroe, and several grandchildren, great grandchildren, and great great grandchildren. She was also preceded in death by 4 sons, L.Z. Pippens, Bobby Adams, Donald Madison, and Jimmy Madison, 2 brothers, J.W. and Jackson Pippens, and 2 sisters, Caroline Smoot and Bessie "Suge" Pippens. Memorial gifts in her name may be given to the Second Missionary Baptist Church.
