Obituary

Louise E. Blazoff, 90 years, of Monroe, Michigan, went home to be with the Lord on Wednesday, October 30, 2024 at Alice Lorraine Care Center in Monroe.
Born August 11, 1934 in Scranton. Pennsylvania, Louise was the daughter of the late Andrew P. and Alice A. (Harrington) Coyne. The family moved to Monroe when Louise was a child. Louise attended St. Mary's Elementary School and was a 1952 graduate of St. Mary's Academy.
On August 7, 1954, Louise married her beloved husband, Robert S. Blazoff, at St. Anne's Catholic Church in Monroe. Sadly, Bob preceded her in death on January 15, 2018, after 63 years of marriage.
Louise was a wonderful homemaker and enjoyed caring for her family. After the children were grown, she decided to join the workforce and was employed by ARA Foods and later by J.C. Penney.
Louise was a member of St. Mary Catholic Church in Monroe, where she made her First Communion and was Confirmed in the Catholic faith. Louise was involved in many church activities, including its Christian Women, teaching Sunday School, and singing in the choir.
Louise was a constant and vocal advocate of women's sports in the pre-Title IX years. She fought for, helped establish, and coached CYO girls' volleyball at St. Mary's Elementary School.
Louise was an active member at the Monroe YMCA. She enjoyed playing tennis, paddle ball, and golf. She and Bob loved to travel and many of their destinations included a round or two of golf, even golfing in the Philippines and Scotland. Louise also enjoyed watching her children and grandchildren's sporting events. Most of all Louise loved time spent with family.
Louise is survived by seven loving children: Barbara (Rick) Baker of Sylvania, OH, Paula Hudson of Monroe, Phyllis (Lloyd) Mason of Ypsilanti, Stephen (Kathleen) Blazoff of Grosse Pointe Farms, Patricia (Mark) Blazoff - Baker of Monroe, Mary (Shaun Clark) Carek of Milan and Robert (Yuri) Blazoff of Livonia, ten cherished grandchildren, nine treasured great grandchildren, a sister, Marcella Condon of Kansas, a brother, James (June) Coyne of Monroe, a sister-in-law, Diana Coyne and a very special friend and caregiver, Charlotte.
In addition to her parents and husband Bob, Louise was preceded in death by a son-in-law Tom Hudson and four siblings: Mary Alice Araneta, Patsy Coyne, Phillip Coyne and Timothy Coyne.
Visitation will be held on Sunday from 2 – 6 pm at Bacarella Funeral Home, 1201 S. Telegraph Rd., Monroe, Michigan, 48161. On Monday, November 4, 2024 she will lie in state at St. Mary Catholic Church in Monroe, beginning at 10:00 am followed by Mass of the Resurrection celebrating Louise's life at 11:00 am. Fr. David Burgard and Fr. Brian Chabala will concelebrate. Interment will follow at St. Joseph Cemetery in Monroe.
The family would like to express their gratitude to the entire staff at Alice Lorraine Care Center for their kindness and dedication to Louise's care.
