Louella Johnson, 99 years of Monroe, MI passed away Monday, January 11, 2010 at 8:30 PM in Medilodge of Monroe. Louella was born July 11, 1910 in Vincennes, IN the daughter of the late James W. and Margarette (Hunot) Gray. On August 22, 1931 in Lawrenceville, IN Louella married her beloved husband William "Mack" Johnson. Sadly he preceded her in death on February 12, 1984. Louella was a wonderful and talented homemaker who enjoyed quilting, knitting, crocheting, baking, candy making, and all sorts of crafts. Louella also worked outside the home for a short time at Woolworths and taught quilting and knitting classes in Monroe. Above all Louella enjoyed her family. Louella is survived by 2 loving sons; James E. (Fran) Johnson of Novi, MI and Richard L. (Carolyn) Johnson of Reno, NV, and a number of cherished grandchildren, great grandchildren and great great grandchildren. In addition to her husband and parents Louella was preceded in death by a son William Johnson Jr. her sister Elsie Mae McKown and her grandson. Visitation will be held in the Bacarella Funeral Home, 1201 S. Telegraph Rd., in Monroe on Friday, January 15, 2010 from 11:00 AM until funeral services celebrating Louella's life at 1:00 PM. Fr. William Fisher, pastor of St. Joseph Catholic Church in Monroe will officiate. Private interment services will be held at Roselawn Memorial Park. In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to St. Joseph Food Closet.
