Lonnie L. Watson, age 26 of Monroe, MI passed away, Sunday, September 2, 2007 in Monroe. Lonnie was born September 18, 1980 in Jellico, TN the son of Lonnie and Maxine "Penny" (Shorter) Pierce. Lonnie was a 1998 graduate of the Michigan Health Academy. Lonnie went on to attend the University of Detroit Mercy College and was a graduated of the Toledo School of Practical Nursing. Lonnie worked as a Licensed Practical Nurse at Maplewood Manor and Tendercare nursing homes in Monroe and at Applewood Nursing Home in Woodhaven. Lonnie was a member of Christ Love Fellowship Church in Monroe and the River Raisin Centre for the Arts. Lonnie is survived by his mother and father Lonnie and Maxine "Penny" Pierce, his grandmother Maxine Morelli of Monroe, grandparents Jack and Daisy Pierce of Clairfield, TN, his adopted mother Gayle Haase of Erie, MI, 3 sisters; Sandra Myers of Monroe, MI, Susan Watson of LaSalle, MI, and Amber Pierce of Clairfield, TN, and a brother Joey Pierce of Clairfield, TN. Nieces and nephews Michael, D.J., Kayla, Shalynn, Samuel, and Jaden. Sadly, Lonnie was preceded in death by his grandfather Rudolph Shorter. Lonnie's family will receive friends on Wednesday from 1-9 PM in the Bacarella Funeral Home, 1201 S. Telegraph Rd., Monroe, MI 48161, where funeral services celebrating his life will be held on Thursday, September 6, 2007 at 11:00 AM. Pastors William and Angela Blunt of Christ Love Fellowship Church will officiate.
