Lonnie R. Lindquist, age 86, of Monroe, passed away Saturday, January 27, 2024 at Toledo Hospital.
Lonnie was born at home July 9, 1937; he was the son of Alvin and Marguerite (Kraft) Lindquist. He married Norieta Ainslie, she preceded him in death in 1963. He then married Bonnie Waltz Pillarelli. Then on October 17, 1997 he married Shirley Bathgate LaBeau, she preceded him in death September 14, 2017.
He was a graduate of Monroe High School. He proudly served his county in the US Air Force from 1956-1959.
Lonnie was employed by Ford Motor Company for more than 42 years, working mostly at the Rawsonville Plant.
He was a life member of Detroit Beach Boat Club, where he served as Commodore in 1993. He was also a life member of VFW Post 1138, AMVETS, and American Legion and a member of the Moose Lodge 884, Elks and Fraternal Order of Eagles.
Lonnie is survived by his four children, Terry L. (Tami) Lindquist of Temperance, Brenda S. (Paul) Lackner of Hillsdale, Kenneth R. (Kathy) Lindquist of Erie and Lesli J. (Patrick) Gillies of Monroe; three siblings, Jack Lindquist, Judy (Fred) Gesell and Ronald (Judy) Lindquist all of Monroe; eleven grandchildren and seven great grandchildren.
He is preceded in death by his parents, two wives, Norieta and Shirley; son, Ricky Lindquist; grandson, Kevin Waldrop, brother Marvin Lindquist and sister-in-law Norma Lindquist.
In accordance with Lonnie's wishes, cremation has taken place, and a memorial service will be held at a later date at Detroit Beach Boat Club. Bacarella Funeral Home is assisting the family with arrangements.
The family suggests memorial contributions in Lonnie's memory be made to VFW Post 1138.
