Lloyd Lee McKinney, age 62, of Monroe, passed away Friday, February 3, 2023 at Beaumont Hospital – Trenton.
Lloyd was born April 12, 1960 in Logan, West Virginia, he was the son of Arthur L. and Dorothy L. (Dingess) McKinney. He married Maria C. Palazzolo December 10, 2005 at Grace Lutheran Church in Monroe.
He had been employed as an automotive/trailer painter, auto damage inspector and most recent automotive sales consultant before taking a medical retirement in 2013.
Lloyd was a graduate of Chadsey High School in Detroit. He was a member of Grace Lutheran Church and past member of the Moose Lodge.
He enjoyed bowling, playing softball, deer hunting, dancing and collecting antiques and Pepsi memorabilia. The greatest joy in Lloyd's life was his family, he loved spending time with them making memories, he especially cherished the time spent with his six grandchildren.
Lloyd is survived by his wife, Maria McKinney of Monroe; two daughters, Diana (Larry) Ward of Romulus and Crystal (Justin) Pearson of Monroe; six grandchildren, Nevaeh, Jordyn, Autumn, Riley, McKinley and August; his parents, Arthur and Dorothy McKinney of Detroit; two siblings, Robert McKinney of Detroit and Jessica (Sean) Pilon of Erie; mother-in-law, Fara Palazzolo of Monroe; many nieces, nephews and godchildren, John Markivich, Michael Burla and Matthew Burla (deceased) and their families.
Visitation will be held Thursday, February 9, 2023 from 5 to 8 p.m. and Friday 1 to 8 p.m. at Bacarella Funeral Home, 1201 S. Telegraph Road, Monroe. He will lie instate at 10 a.m. Saturday, February 11, 2023 at Grace Lutheran Church, 630 N. Monroe St., Monroe with funeral services at 11 a.m. Interment will follow at St. Joseph Cemetery, Monroe.
