Lloyd F. "Sam" Lambrix, 67 years of Monroe, MI passed away Monday, November 26, 2007 at 6:30 AM at St. Vincent Mercy Medical Center in Toledo, OH. He had been diagnosed with Aplastic Anemia in April and had been seriously ill for the past week. Lloyd was born November 29, 1939 in S. Rockwood, MI the son of the late Lawrence and Adeline (Masson) Lambrix. Lloyd was a 1957 graduate of Airport High School. On October 3, 1964 Lloyd married Carolyn M. Prucka at St. Charles Catholic Church in Newport. Lloyd worked as a Maintenance Supervisor for Detroit Edison at the Monroe Power Plant for 35 years, retiring in 1999. Lloyd was a member of St. Mary's Catholic Church, Knights of Columbus #1266, Elks Club in Flat Rock, and the Moose Lodge #884. Lloyd loved spending time with his grandchildren, watching them play and grow up. Lloyd most enjoyed his euchre sessions, conversations, and camaraderie with his cronies; Jim, John, Zeb, Tom, Freddy, Jim, Gary and Jerry at Verna's Bar and Village Inn in Newport. He also enjoyed tending the campfires for 35 years with many friends of the Pine Setters Camping Club and following local high school sports. Lloyd is survived by his wife Carolyn, 2 sons, Lloyd D. (Brandi Kennedy) of Estero, FL, and Brian L. of Monroe, a daughter Amy A. (Timothy) Janssen of Monroe. 6 grandchildren; Amber, Jared, and Sydney Janssen, Jack and Nick Lambrix and MiKaela Mathes. 3 brothers; Lawrence (Phyllis) of Morley, MI, Charles (Shirley) and Lyle (Paula) of Monroe. 4 sisters; Elaine (Donald) Hollister of Carleton, Donna (LeRoy) Southworth of Alger, MI, Diana (Douglas) Thorn of Flat Rock, and Joyce (George) Lechy of Monroe. A sister in law Barb Lambrix of Jerome, MI, his mother in law Marie Prucka of Monroe and his uncle Howard Lambrix of Trenton, MI. In addition to his parents Lloyd was preceded in death by his brother Lynwood in February of this year. Visitation will be held on Wednesday from 4-8 PM and Thursday from 1-8 PM in the Bacarella Funeral Home where a Scripture Service will be held on Thursday at 6:00 PM. On Friday, November 30, 2007 he will lie in state from 10:00 AM at St. Mary's Catholic Church until Mass of the Resurrection celebrating his life at 11:00 AM. Fr. Marc A. Gawronski will officiate. The family has requested memorial contributions be made to the St. Marguerite d'Youville Program to assist cancer patients at St. Vincent Mercy Medical Center or please consider donating blood to the American Red Cross.
