Linda Ann Peterson, 75 years, a lifelong resident of Monroe, Michigan, went home to be with the Lord on Wednesday, August 23, 2023 at Alice Lorraine Care Center in Monroe.
Born June 25, 1948 in Monroe, Linda was the daughter of the late Leonard D. and Sara L. (Martin) Pleuss. Linda attended Monroe Public Schools and was a 1966 graduate of Monroe High School.
On April 16, 1977, Linda married Paul G. Peterson at St. Paul's United Methodist Church in Monroe.
During business co-op at Monroe High School, Linda worked at the Monroe Evening News. She then went to work for Behner Travel Agency on South Monroe Street. In 1969 she was hired at Monroe High School where she worked for Coach Red Davis. When the new high school opened, she was assigned to the administrative building and worked for both Coach Davis and Leo Perelman. When Mr. Perelman filled in as principal at Waterloo Elementary, Linda worked as his secretary for 2 years. While at Waterloo, Linda met many families. It was there she met Pat Loveland and her family. Happily, she attended and enjoyed the wedding of Pat's son Trevor in 2021. In 1980 Linda began working at Gross Tax Services for Ludwig. It was there she met Ludwig's partner Ted Meyer CPA. Linda continued as the Business Manager at Ted Meyer and Associated for 30 years, retiring in 2010. Her final job she was working with her two favorite people, Doc Eighmey and Dr. Scott Johnson, at Westwood Dental. She retired in 2019 when she broke her ankle and she knew she was going to be out of commission for a while.
Linda was a past member of Grace Lutheran Church, where she served as treasurer and a current member of Trinity Lutheran Church in Monroe, where she served as past Treasurer of the Ladies Aide Society. Linda also enjoyed cooking for family dinners.
Linda is survived by her sister, Nancy (Ed) Bomia, cousins in southeast Michigan, Ohio, Virginia, Florida and Arizona, her husband, Paul, his brother, Fritz (Connie Cousino), sister Laurie, and nephew, Scot Peterson.
In addition to her parents, Linda was preceded in death by: uncles, Edward and Eudora, Marion and Helen Pleuss, Uncles Bill and Anna, Bob and Ann Martin, Aunt Eleanor and Roy McFadden (and first husband, Paul Belter), Cousins: Al Vilpors, Marie Pleuss and William Belter, nephew, Erik Peterson, and her niece, Elizabeth Peterson.
Visitation will be held on Wednesday from 2 – 7 pm at Bacarella Funeral Home, 1201 S. Telegraph Rd., Monroe, Michigan, 48161, where funeral services celebrating Linda's life will be held on Thursday, August 31, 2023 at 11:00 am. Rev. Mark Witte, pastor of Grace Lutheran Church, will officiate. Interment will follow at Roselawn Memorial Park.
Memorial contributions are suggested to Trinity Lutheran Church or Grace Lutheran Church.
Linda's family would like to thank; her friends at Marian Place, especially Lois, and Tom and Janette, who made sure she never missed a meal, everyone at Alice Lorraine who watched over her and cared for her so lovingly, and to ProMedica Hospice, that gave that extra touch to handle the situation best.
