Linda L. Hill, age 84 of Monroe, passed away Saturday, May 31, 2025 at Henry Ford Hospital, Wyandotte, MI.
Born January 19, 1941 in Monroe, Linda was the first born of four children to the late Derwood "Banty" and Alma (Stadler) Landt. She married the love of her life, Dean W. Hill on March 2, 1963 at Grace Lutheran Church. Together they raised four sons at their Bluebush Road home. Sadly, Dean passed on September 22, 2014 after sharing 51 years of marriage.
Throughout her life, Linda was many things. A homemaker, wife, mother, sister, aunt, grandmother, or best friend. She was a 1959 graduate of Monroe High School, a Coca-Cola enthusiast, a card shark, and an avid Detroit Tigers fan (GO TIGERS!), She enjoyed gardening, crocheting, photography, bird watching, traveling, and was a darn fine baker (especially her cookies and cakes). Linda loved Christmas and probably kept the USPS in business, always making sure to send a birthday, anniversary, or holiday card to all she loved.
Linda was happiest when she was surrounded by family and friends during the many parties and gatherings she hosted at her home. She was even happier when a game of cards broke out around the kitchen table.
Linda is survived by her sons: Wade (Joan) Hill, Michael (Rachelle) Hill, Bryan (Kendra) Hill, all of Monroe, and Chad (Renee) Hill of Rockwood, MI; brother, Mike (Vickie) Landt of Tecumseh, MI; sister, Bonnie Fegan of Denver, CO; and a plethora of grandkids: Nathan (Ashley Berry) Hill, Tyler Hill, Alee (Jake Kinsland) Hill, Brandon (Megan) Hill, Banty (Shianna LaBell) Hill, Zachary (Abby Hargis) Hill, and Sydney Hill; 7 step-grandkids: Morgan, Madison, Jacob, Anthony, Sydney, Nathan, and Meagan; 3 great-grandchildren, Zayne, Remy, and Hailey; 3 step-great-grandkids, Vyvian, Myles, and Gwendolyn, all whom she cherished and adored. Whether it was cross country, baseball, swimming, track and field, basketball or soccer, Linda thoroughly enjoyed attending all of sons and grandchildren's sporting events throughout the decades.
In addition to her parents and husband, Linda was also preceded in death by a sister, Kay Landt.
Linda leaves a legacy of love, laughter, and cherishing of family and friends. This legacy will continue to live on through her sons, grandchildren, and everyone who ever had the pleasure of knowing her. Everyone deserves to have someone like Linda in their life. She will be greatly missed and never forgotten.
