Obituary

Lina J. "Dolly" Richardson, 90 years, of Monroe, MI passed away quietly in her sleep on Wednesday, September 28, 2011 in Fountain View of Monroe. Dolly enjoyed reasonably good health until she was 89 ½ years old.
Born August 1, 1921 in Middlesboro, KY, Dolly was the daughter of the late James F. and Delia (Mobley) York. Dolly moved to Monroe on September 23, 1943.
On July 2, 1948, Dolly married her beloved husband Granville "Wild Bill" Richardson Sr. in Monroe. Sadly he preceded her in death on April 17, 1998.
Dolly spent most of her life as a homemaker, but also worked at the Willow Run Bomber Plant and in the box shop and Northside Consolidated. Dolly enjoyed gardening, camping and attending blue grass festivals.
Dolly is survived by her loving son; Granville Richardson Jr., of Monroe, a cherished granddaughter; Martha Jane (Julian) Goldsmith, a treasured great grandson; Noah, a brother; Charles (Eulene) York of Monroe and a sister; Mary Money of Knoxville, TN. In addition to her husband and parents, Dolly was preceded in death by a sister; Opal York.
Visitation will be held on Sunday from 1-7 PM in the Bacarella Funeral Home, 1201 S. Telegraph Rd., in Monroe where funeral services celebrating her life will be held on Monday, October 3, 2011 at 11:00 AM. Interment will follow at Historic Woodland Cemetery in Monroe.
