Obituary

Lewis E. Lambert, age 77 of Monroe, passed away Monday, February 12, 2024 at Medilodge of Monroe.
Born May 11, 1946 in Tazewell, TN, Lewis was the son of the late Virgil and Edith (Edmondson) Lambert. He proudly served in the U.S. Army during the Vietnam War from Dec. 15, 1965 until being honorably discharged on October 12, 1967. He earned the National Defense Service Medal, Vietnam Service Medal, Vietnam Campaign Medal, One Overseas Service Bar, and the Combat Infantry Badge.
Lewis married Rebecca England in Tazewell, TN and later married Debra J. Hoste on December 11, 1982 at Roessler Street Church of God.
As an over-the-road truck driver, Lewis was first employed by C&M Trucking and then by Heidtman Steel, retiring in March of 2015. They continued their Sunday worshipping as members of Faith Baptist Church.
Lewis is survived by his wife of 41 years, Debra Lambert; three sons, Brandon (Sandy) Lambert of New Market, TN, Brian (Angela) Lambert of Bloomington, IL, and Justin (Dannica) Lambert of Monroe; Siblings, Jack (Ann) Lambert of Monroe, Delores (Steve) Cupp of New Tazewell, TN, Glenda (Dennis) Shockley of Tazewell, TN, Carolyn (David) Greene of New Tazewell, TN, and Nancy Lambert of Tazewell, TN; sisters-in-law, Barbara Lambert of Tazewell, TN, Earline Lambert of Wortham, TX, and Kathy Lambert of New Tazewell, TN; brother-in-law, Glen Woelmer of Monroe; three grandchildren, Austin, Paiton, and Alexis Lambert.
In addition to his parents, Lewis was preceded in death by three brothers, James, Jerry, and Johnny Lambert; three sisters, Vivian (Burt) Lister, Geraldine Woelmer, and infant Linda June Lambert.
Family and friends may visit from 3 p.m. to 8 p.m. Friday, Feb. 16th at Bacarella Funeral Home where services will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday. Rev. Brian Southerland, pastor of Colonial Hills Baptist Church will officiate. Burial will follow at Roselawn Memorial Park with military honors provided by Monroe VFW Post 1138.
