Lewis W. "Rocky" Kelley, 50 years, a lifelong resident of Monroe, MI passed away suddenly on Wednesday, April 7, 2010 in the Emergency Room at Mercy Memorial Hospital. Rocky, as he was known by his family and friends, was born August 2, 1959 in Monroe, MI the son of James W. and Francis Irine (Nunn) Kelley. Rocky attended Monroe High School. Rocky worked for the Ford Motor Company for the past 18 years. He began working at the Mazda Plant, and then he transferred to the Monroe Plant, until it closed. He was currently working at the Rouge Engine Plant in Dearborn. Rocky was a member of the U.A.W. Local 600, he enjoyed shooting pool, sports, animals and vacationing in Florida. Above all Rocky loved and was very supportive of his family and his many friends. Rocky is survived by his beloved mother Francis Irine Kelley of Monroe, his stepmother Kim Tomasik of Wyandotte, MI, 3 sons; John Clifford Schiefer, Christopher Kelley, and Johnny Loftis, 3 grandchildren, 3 brothers; Danny Wilson, Jason Gray and James "Tiger" Kelley, 2 sisters; Anita Klatt and Kelley Zaigaski, and a host of aunts, uncles and cousins. Sadly, he was preceded in death by his father James on December 5, 2005 and his grandmother Mollie Mae (Nunn) Holland. Visitation will be held on Sunday from 1-8 PM in the Bacarella Funeral Home, 1201 S. Telegraph Rd., in Monroe where funeral services celebrating Rocky's life will be held on Monday, April 12, 2010 at 11:00 AM. Interment will follow at Historic Woodland Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation.
