Lennie Darlene Kwiatkowski, age 67 of Petersburg, passed away Saturday, November 12, 2022 in the emergency room at ProMedica Monroe Regional Hospital. She had been in declining health for a few years.
Born August 29, 1955 in Lenoir City, TN, Darlene was the daughter of Arzona (Wampler) Lawson. On June 21, 1979, she married James Michael Kwiatkowski in Monroe. Darlene and Jim both went back to school and earned their GED High School Diplomas. Ironically, they had identical scores and she would jokingly say to Jim "see, you're no smarter than me."
Darlene embraced being a homemaker, wife and mom. She enjoyed cooking, baking, and especially time spent with her family, and babysitting her granddogs.
Darlene is survived by her husband Jim "King James"; daughter, Anna (Fred) Billmaier "Princess Anna Lee" of Petersburg; two brothers, Tommy Lawson of Petersburg and David Lawson of Monroe; two grandsons, Evan and Caleb Billmaier; and her four cherished granddogs, Saleen, Roush, Meeka, and Sylvie.
Darlene was preceded in death by her mother, Arzona Peters; brother, Joe Lawson; granddog, Shelby: and pet dog, Tazzy Boy.
Family and friends may visit from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m. Thursday, Nov. 17th and 12 p.m. to 2 p.m. Friday, Nov. 18th at Bacarella Funeral Home. Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Friday at the funeral home. Rev. John Bullard will officiate. Cremation will follow at Roselawn Memorial Park in accordance with Darlene's wishes with burial in the spring of 2023.
In lieu of flowers, the family suggests supporting the Humane Society of Monroe County.
