Leigh Anne St. Bernard, age 46, a life long resident of Monroe passed away Wednesday, February 25, 2009 in her home. She had been in poor health for several years. Leigh was born November 1, 1962 in Monroe, MI the daughter of Charles N. and Marie S. (DiSabatino) Gibson. Leigh was a 1981 graduate of Monroe High School and attended Monroe County Community College where she was studying to be a CPA. On December 4, 1981 Leigh married Tom H. St. Bernard in Monroe. A homemaker, Leigh also worked as a programmer for MPACT and as a data processor for Benesh Corp both located in Monroe. Leigh attended St. Joseph Catholic Church in Monroe and belonged to a Bible study group at Trinity Lutheran Church. Leigh especially enjoyed studying the Bible and praying with her dad. Leigh was very artistic, she enjoyed crafts, painting, drawing, especially black ink drawing. Leigh excelled at computers both as a programmer and as a teacher and she loved animals especially her little puppy Satchmo. Leigh is survived by her Mother and Father of Monroe, her husband Tom, her son Thomas H. St. Bernard Jr. of Monroe, her grandmother Czelma E. Gibson of Portland, TN, 2 brothers; William F. Gibson of Toledo, OH and Charles Daniel Gibson of Washington C.H., OH and her sister Dawn Marie (Tom) Simpson of Azalia, MI. Sadly she was preceded in death by her grandparents; Frank and Fannie DiSabatino and Walter W. Gibson. Visitation will be held on Monday, March 2, 2009 in the Bacarella Funeral Home, 1201 S. Telegraph Rd in Monroe, from 11:00 AM until funeral services celebrating her life at 1:00 PM. Fr. William Fisher pastor of St. Joseph Catholic Church will officiate. Memorial contributions may be made to the Alliance For Spay/Neuter and Pet Rescue, St. Joseph's Food Closet or the Ann Arbor Hospice.
