Leeottie "Lee" Rellias, age 98 of Monroe, passed away Tuesday afternoon, Sept. 14th, in her home.
Born June 3, 1923 in Fonde, KY, Lee was the daughter of the late George and Dora (Howard) Hodge.
After graduating high school, Leeottie came to Monroe as a young lady. On June 3, 1943, she married Howard Allen in Monroe. While Howard was serving in the military during World War II, Lee returned to Bell County, Kentucky where she was employed at Oak Ridge National Laboratory. After the war she returned to Monroe and worked from 1946 to 1951 for Paper Products.
In 1962, Lee purchased the Little Dixie Restaurant in Monroe. In December of 1963 in Las Vegas, NV, she married John Rellias and the two operated the restaurant until their retirement in 1987 when they sold the business. Lee took great pride in her accomplishments at the restaurant. She was a great cook and hostess Sadly, John preceded Lee in death in 1989.
Leeottie is survived by four children: David Allen of Fort Myers, FL, Barry (Linda) Allen of Newport, Larry (Marthel) Allen of Monroe, and Sherry (Robert Rau) Allen of Monroe; sister, Opal Cawood of Monroe; 11 grandchildren: Kenneth, Beth, Amy, David, Sara, Samuel, Angela, Lisa, LeeAnn, Dora, Robert, and Benjamin and 10 great-grandchildren: Sarah, Grace, Natalie, Julia, Brandon, Dakota, Cole, Jake, Sarah, Samantha, Makayla, Hannah, Spencer and Garrett and three great great grandchildren: Sofie, Ollie and Jeromey Stoll.
In addition to her parents and husbands, John and Howard, Lee was also preceded in death by her twin brother, John Hodge, and 3 sisters, Geneva Hodge, Irene Proffitt, and Levada Hill.
Bacarella Funeral Home is assisting the family with cremation and interment at Roselawn Memorial Park in accordance with Leeottie's wishes.
