Leah R. Kuehnlein, age 42 of Monroe, passed away Saturday, January 21, 2023 at Henry Ford Hospital in Detroit after being seriously ill for three weeks.
Born May 13, 1980 in Monroe, Leah was the daughter of Mark and Becky (Vajcner) Kuehnlein. She attended Trinity Lutheran Elementary School and graduated from Monroe High School in 1998.
Leah had been employed as Lead Dispatcher by Lake Erie Transit since 2004 and enjoyed attending concerts, camping, playing and watching sports, crafting, shooting pool, playing marbles, and cooking, especially trying new recipes. Always enjoying a good laugh, she was the life of the party.
Leah is survived by two daughters, Avery and Grace Drake, both of Monroe; her mother, Becky Stadler of Monroe; father, Mark Kuehnlein of Monroe; Step-father, Scott (Wendy) Stadler of Monroe; five siblings, Kendra Stadler of Toledo, OH, Staci Stadler of Endicott, NY, Seth (Desiree Collins) Stadler of Lambertville, Justin Kuehnlein and Matthew Kuehnlein, both of Dundee, MI; Fiance, Ryan Gensler of Monroe; grandmother, Dorla Vajcner of Monroe; her four "adopted" grandkids, Allyson, Madelyn, Nathan, and Weston; and her fur-baby "Benji".
Leah was preceded in death by grandparents, Thomas Vajcner, and Clifford and Shirley Kuehnlein.
Family and friends may visit from 3 p.m. until time of funeral at 7 p.m. Friday, Jan. 27th at Bacarella Funeral Home. Rev. Mark Witte, pastor of Grace Lutheran Church will officiate. Cremation will follow with interment at Roselawn Memorial Park at a later date.
In lieu of flowers, the family would prefer memorial donations be made to the Humane Society of Monroe County.
