Obituary

Lawrence F. Zorn, age 89 of LaSalle, passed away Sunday, November 30, 2025 at ProMedica Monroe Regional Hospital Emergency Room.
Lawrence was born September 16, 1936 in Monroe, he was the son of Lewis and Irma (Luft) Zorn. He married Jane A. Stiffler October 5, 1957, they had just celebrated their 68th wedding anniversary.
He was a 1954 graduate of Monroe High School and a member of St. John the Baptist Catholic Church.
Lawrence was employed by Dundee Cement (Holnam, Inc.) for 42 years before his retirement in 2001. He also was a farmer, helping his brother, Robert, farm his land for many years.
He was a man that enjoyed being outdoors, he liked fishing, hunting, boating and gardening. He also was a wood carver, making animal figurines in his spare time. He loved to spend time with his family, especially the time spent with his grandchildren.
He is survived by his wife Jane Zorn; six children, Lawrence (Rita) Zorn, Jr. of LaSalle, Cheryl Gulley of LaSalle, Janet Booth of Monroe, Gary (Amy) Zorn of LaSalle, Glenn (Janelle) Zorn of Petersburg and Laura (Mike Morrison) Zorn of Monroe; five siblings, Eleanor (Thomas) Kressbach of Grosse Pointe, John (Sandy) Zorn of LaSalle, Louise Lietaert of Temperance, James (Barb) Zorn of LaSalle and Susan (John) Mathe of LaSalle; eleven grandchildren, Joshua, Jeremy, Krystle, Harmony, Skylier, Kayli, Morgan, Peyton, Logan, Lindsay and Brock; 20 great grandchildren and one on the way.
He is preceded in death by his son, Richard Zorn, his parents, a brother, Robert Zorn and a son-in-law, Davis Gulley.
Visitation will be held from 2 to 7 p.m. Thursday, December 4, 2025 at Bacarella Funeral Home, 1201 S. Telegraph Rd., Monroe. He will lie instate Friday at 10 a.m. at St. John the Baptist Catholic Church with Mass of the Resurrection at 11 a.m. Rev. Michael Anagbogu officiating. Burial will follow at Roselawn Memorial Park, LaSalle.
In lieu of flowers memorial contributions are suggested to St. John the Baptist Catholic Church or Cancer Connection of Monroe.
