With heavy hearts, we announce the unexpected passing of Lauren R. Pfund on July 3, 2026 at the age of 44.
Lauren was a vibrant, caring, and compassionate person who brought warmth and laughter wherever she went. She had a true gift as a hairstylist, using her creativity and kindness to help others feel beautiful and confident. Her clients often become lifelong friends, a testament to the genuine connections she made.
She had a passion for bowling and enjoyed the camaraderie, competition, and countless memories. Nortel Lanes was a second home growing up, as her father was the assistant manager. One of her favorite bragging rights was beating her Hall of Fame dad in a game.
Lauren enjoyed her life with an infectious smile and generous heart. She had a wild sense of humor that could make any one laugh.
An avid animal lover, Lauren had a special place in her heart for all creatures, always offering love and care to the pets and animals she encountered. Her compassion knew no bounds. Duke and Sissy were Lauren’s children and so well loved.
Above all, Lauren treasured the people in her life. She loved gathering with friends, laughing and making memories that will be cherished forever. Her loyalty, sense of humor, and caring spirit touched everyone who knew her.
She leaves behind a loving family and many dear friends who will forever miss her laughter, her kindness, and the light she brought into their lives. Though our hearts are broken, we find comfort in the memories she gave us and the love she shared so freely.
She is survived by her father, Duane (Maureen) Pfund; her mother, Mary Kay (Keith Tyler) Pfund; her sister, Lindsey (Michael) Hall; her niece and nephew Madison and Ben Hall and many aunts, uncles and cousins. She is preceded in death by her long-time partner, Paul Boyd, her grandparents, Keith and Mary Lou (“Mimi”) Pfund, and Dan and Elizabeth Dickey.
Her spirit will continue to live on in the hearts of all who knew and loved her. She will be deeply missed and forever remembered.
A celebration of life luncheon will be held on Saturday, July 11th at the Knights of Columbus located at 202 W. Front St., Monroe, MI from 1:00 – 4:00 p.m. In accordance with Lauren’s wishes cremation has taken place. Bacarella Funeral Home assisted the family with arrangements.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Monroe County Humane Society.
