Obituary

Larry Dean Cosby, age 64 of Temperance, MI, passed away Monday, February 10, 2025 in his home.
Born April 10, 1960 in Monroe, Larry was the son of Clyde and Hazel (Chambers) Cosby. He was a 1978 graduate of Monroe High School. He served in the U.S. Air Force from September 16, 1981 until being honorably discharged on March 15, 1986.
Larry was employed by Guardian Glass for 20 years. He was a fan of all the professional Detroit sports teams, especially the Detroit Lions. He was also a huge fan of the rock band Rush, attending at least 25 of their concerts. Larry had a soft spot for animals and enjoyed fishing, one of his favorite pastimes.
Larry is survived by two sons: Matthew (Erica) Cosby of Temperance and Mitchell Cosby of Perrysburg, OH; his companion, Linda Whipple of Adrian, MI; seven siblings: Jerry (Doreen) Cosby of Key Largo, FL; Jeff (Concetta) Cosby of Monroe; Kimberly (Jeff) Tolles of Kalamazoo, MI; Clyde Cosby, Jr. of Ypsilanti, MI; Loretta (Ray) Yuergens of Avon, IN; James (Karen) Turner of Monroe; and Jamie (Rachel) Turner-Mathena of Franklin, IN; step-brother, Dan Turner of Monroe; sister-in-law, Nancy Cosby of Monroe; three grandchildren: Adrianna, Laila, and Madelynn Cosby; and special people in Larry's life: Cliff, Patty, and Stephanie Winter, Samantha and Josh Miller.
Larry was preceded in death by his father, Clyde Cosby; mother, Hazel Turner, brother, Gary Cosby; and Melvin and Joyce Garno who were instrumental in helping raise him.
Visitation will be held Tuesday, Feb. 18th from 2 p.m. until services at 5 p.m. at Bacarella Funeral Home. Members of Monroe VFW Post 1138 Ritual Team will pay military tribute to Larry immediately followed by funeral service with Rev. Roy Southerland officiating.
Memorial donations may be made to Monroe VFW Post 1138 in gratitude for their services.
