Kyle W. Sexton, 15, of South Rockwood, went to be with the Lord at 3 PM, Sunday, August 19, 2007 in the St. Vincent Children's Hospital, Toledo, OH. He was born June 27, 1992 in Dearborn, MI to Kenneth and Kimberly (Simpson) Sexton.
Kyle was a member of the Stewart Road Christian Ministries Center, and active in the youth group, Generation Z. With the youth group, he was active in mission work and special activities, such as performing with his Christian Contemporary band, Hi-Z, with which he was a guitarist and vocalist. They performed at the Michigan International Speedway for the last 3 years, and also at Skateway on their Christian Music Nights. He played baseball in the South Rockwood Little League, enjoyed going on Disney Cruises with his family, making new friends, and collecting tropical fish.
He leaves to mourn his beloved parents, cherished grandparents, Patty (Gillis) Hamilton of Monroe and Nancy Smukal of South Rockwood, treasured brother and sister, Kurtis and Katelynn, several endeared aunts, uncles, and cousins, and many, many admired friends.
Sadly, his grandfathers, Glen Sexton, Herb Smukal, and Ron Simpson preceded him in death.
Visitation for Kyle will be held at the Bacarella Funeral Home, 4-8 PM Wednesday and 12-8 PM Thursday. He will lie in state at the Stewart Road Christian Ministries Center on Friday, from 12 PM until funeral services celebrating his life at 1 PM. Rev. Sam Luke, pastor of the church, will officiate, and burial will follow at Oak Ridge Cemetery, Flat Rock.
Memorial gifts in his name may be given to the Stewart Road Christian Ministries Center youth group, Generation Z.
