Obituary

Kelsey E. Alexin, 24 years, of Monroe, Michigan went home to be with the Lord, on Thursday, May 1, 2014 in her home with her loving family at her side and after a valiant 20 year battle with ROHHAD disease.
Born December 4, 1989 in Owensboro, KY, Kelsey was the beautiful daughter of Barry J. and Sara J. (Doane) Alexin. The family moved to the Monroe area in 2000. Kelsey was a 2008 graduate of Dundee High School where she was very active in the Drama Club. While in high school Kelsey enjoyed hanging with her friends.
Kelsey was a member of St. Anne's Catholic Church where she assisted with the church's recent faith campaigns.
Kelsey could be called a world class volunteer as she gave her time, love, talents, and energy to the Salvation Army, Old Mill Museum in Dundee, Marian Place, The Center for Independent Living, and MON - ARC of Monroe. Kelsey also enjoyed cooking and would often experiment with different dishes. Kelsey spent a lot of her time at home, where her mother and she shared many special moments of caring for each other. Kelsey will be remembered as a kind, caring, loving person, who thought of others instead of herself.
Kelsey is survived by her loving parents: Barry and Sara Alexin of Monroe, a sister Mallory P. (Thai) Sribanditmongkol of Gahanna, OH, grandparents: Albert C. and Bernadine Doane of Amherst, OH, aunts: Jennifer (Bob) Springer of Allentown, PA, Priscilla (Wayne) Campbell of Polk, OH, an uncle: Michael (Cindy) Doane of Wakeman, OH and her faithful dog: Maggie. Kelsey was preceded in death by her maternal grandmother Patricia Doane and paternal grandparents: Helen and Joseph Alexin.
