Keith O. Seamands, 82 years, of Monroe, MI, passed away Sunday, March 4, 2012 at 2:00 PM in his home. He had been in declining health for the past 2 years.
Keith was born in Akron, IA on November 4, 1929. He was educated in Akron and was a 1948 graduate of Akron High School. He went on to receive his associate's degree from Texas Tech University.
On November 1, 1947 he married his high school sweetheart the former Audrey E. Waterbury in Minnesota.
After graduation Keith entered the US Air Force where he served his country honorably and proudly for 24 years. Keith served in Korea and two tours of duty in Vietnam. He retired in 1972 as a Tech Sergeant and Flight Engineer. Keith, among other medals and commendations, was a Purple Heart recipient. After retiring from the US Air Force, Keith worked as an engineer for Boeing Corporation for 8 years in Richardson, TX. Keith then went to work for Ford Motor Company in Dearborn, MI, where he was an Electronic Engineer for 20 years. Keith retired in 2008.
Keith had an incredible work ethic and enjoyed time spent with family.
Keith is survived by his beloved wife of 64 years, Audrey, four loving children: Linda L. Perdue of San Antonio, TX, Douglas K. (Millie) Seamands of San Angelo, TX, Jay L. (Pam) Seamands of Comanche, TX and Ronald D. (Jone McDaniel) Seamands of Grapevine, TX, six cherished grandchildren, five treasured great grandchildren, and his Chinese Pug, Kellie. Sadly, Keith was preceded in death by a son Kirk T. Seamands and a brother Claude Seamands.
In keeping with Keith's wishes cremation will be held and no services are planned. The Bacarella Funeral Home, 1201 S. Telegraph Rd. in Monroe is assisting his family with funeral arrangements.
