Obituary

Keith A. Geiman, 76 years of Dundee, MI went home to be with the Lord on Sunday, August 7, 2011 with his beloved wife at his side and under the tender care of Mercy Memorial Hospice of Monroe. Keith had been in declining health for the past 2 years.
Born July 21, 1935 in Monroe, MI Keith was the son of the late Carl G. and Cordelia (Grauf) Geiman. Keith was a graduate of Concordia Lutheran High School in Fort Wayne, IN where he spent 4 years in ROTC.
On November 26, 1960 Keith married his beloved wife the former Mary Kaye Banek at Good Shepherd Lutheran Church in Monroe.
Keith began his career in car sales in 1958 working for his dad at Geiman Sales in Monroe. In 1960 Keith purchased Frank and Jentoff in Dundee, MI. Keith renamed the dealership Keith's Auto Sales and ran the business until he sold it in June of 1977. Keith also owned the Tastee Freeze in Dundee for 8 years. Keith had an incredible work ethic and never truly retired.
Keith was a member of St. John Lutheran Church in Dundee, Moose Lodge #884, and the Fraternal Order of Eagles both in Monroe. Keith enjoyed golf, traveling, spending winters in Florida and summers at their cabin in northern Michigan. Most of all Keith enjoyed family and being with his wife Mary Kaye.
Keith is survived by his beloved wife of 50 years Mary Kaye, 2 loving children; Keith Andrew Geiman of Naples, FL and Susan Katherine (Chief Master Sergeant Jeffrey) Irby of Washington, 4 cherished grandchildren; Bethany, Amanda, Keith, and Kathryn, a treasured great granddaughter; Lauren, 2 brothers; Donald (Donna) Geiman of Saline, MI, Dean (Helen) Geiman of Carleton, a sister Ruth Eastman and a sister in law; Doris Geiman both of Monroe.
In addition to his parents Keith was preceded in death by a brother Kenneth.
Visitation will be held Thursday from 4-8 PM and Friday from 1-8 PM in the Bacarella Funeral Home. On Saturday, August 13, 2011 he will lie in state at St. John Lutheran Church in Dundee from 10:00 AM until funeral services celebrating his life at 11:00 AM. The Rev. Annette Griffin will officiate. Interment will follow at Maple Grove Cemetery in Dundee.
Memorial contributions may be given to St. John Lutheran Church or Mercy Memorial Hospice of Monroe.
