Kathryn Maria "Katie" Morris, age 31 of Rockwood, MI, passed away Wednesday, August 10, 2022 at Sinai Grace Hospital in Detroit after being seriously ill for almost four weeks.
Born October 25, 1990 in Detroit, Katie was the daughter of Daniel Morris and Cora Payne. She attended Gibraltar Public Schools and graduated at the age of 15 from Westland Christian Academy. She attended Northwestern Technical Institute where she received Heating and Cooling certification and then earned an associate degree from Wayne County Community College.
Katie is a former Girl Scout and cheerleader. She enjoyed ice skating and earned a black belt degree in Korean karate.
Katie is survived by her father, Daniel Morris of Rockwood; mother and step-father, Cora (Douglas) Payne of Monroe; two sons, Raiden Sweeney and Rebel White; and sister, Amanda Cooper.
Family and friends may visit from 12 p.m. until time of funeral service at 3 p.m. Tuesday, Aug. 16th at Bacarella Funeral Home. Pastor Ann Birchmeier of New Baltimore Grace United Methodist Church will officiate with cremation to follow in accordance with Katie's wishes.
