Kathleen M. O'Connor, age 82, of Monroe, MI formerly of Warsash, England passed away Sunday, November 30, 2008 at her home in Monroe. Kathleen had been in poor health for the past 3 years. Kathleen was born January 27, 1926 in Norwich, England the daughter of the late Thomas and Kathleen (Keenealy) Foster. On August 18, 1945 Kathleen married Col. Theodore J. O'Connor in Slough, Buckinghamshire, England. Kathleen was a member of St. Mary's Catholic Church in Park Gate, Fareham, England. At one time Kathleen was very active as a Gray Lady with the Red Cross and with the United States Air Force Officers Wives Club. A homemaker, Kathleen enjoyed gardening and was a devoted wife, mother and grandmother. Kathleen is survived by her beloved husband of 63 years Theodore, 2 loving sons; Theodore T.J. (Connie) O'Connor of Newport Beach, CA and CDR. Michael P. (Michelle) O'Connor of Monroe, MI, 6 cherished grandchildren; Theodore, Garrett, Sean, Ashley, Regan and Brendan, 1 treasured great grandchild, 2 brothers; Sean Foster of Toronto, Canada and Michael Foster of Henley-on-Thames, England, 2 sisters; Beryl Bridge of Couborg, Ontario, Canada and Joan Grant of Holly Port, Berkshire, England. In addition to her parents Kathleen was preceded in death by her brother Thomas Foster and her sister Rhona Addison. In keeping with her wishes funeral services will be private and burial will take place at Great Lakes National Cemetery in Holly, MI. Memorial contributions may be given to Mercy Memorial Hospice of Monroe. The Bacarella Funeral Home, 1201 S. Telegraph Rd. in Monroe, is assisting the family with funeral arrangements.
