Kathleen Marie Livernois, a life-long resident of Monroe, MI, passed away at the IHM Senior Living Community on Sunday, June 25, 2023 after a brief illness.
Kathleen was born July 16, 1949 in Monroe, the fifth child of eight, to Arden T. and Anna M. (Speltz) Westover. She attended St Mary Grade School and St. Mary Academy, graduating in 1967. During high school she met the love of her life and best friend, Dennis G. Livernois, marrying him on September 26, 1970 at St. Mary Catholic Church. Together they raised their beautiful daughter, Michelle, with unconditional love and care.
Family was the keystone of Kathleen's life. She fiercely loved and protected her family and would do anything to help, support or encourage them. She was always a kind, gentle steady presence during difficult times and a happy partner in the celebrations of joyful occasions. She was a private and quiet person but also witty and fun, sensitive, and incredibly compassionate. She kept an immaculate house, loved making special Christmas stockings for each new member of her ever-growing family and made a mean pie for dessert for her frequent Friday fish fries. Her work history includes a brief stay at Best Jewelers, followed by office work at Monroe Steel Castings, and finally she retired after working at Food Town (later purchased by Kroger) for the bulk of her work life.
In addition to her parents, she is predeceased by her brothers, Arden T. (Mike) and Thomas V. and her sister, Margaret Ann. In addition to her husband, Denny, she is survived by her daughter Michelle and her husband, Kevin Baker of Lewiston, MI and their children, Benjamin, Henry, Anna and Ming, her brothers and sisters, Patricia Westover, I.H.M. of Chicago, Roger Westover and his wife, Cathy of Traverse City, MI, Theresa and her husband, John (Jack) Burkhart of Monroe, MI, Gerard J. Westover and wife, Bonnie Jean of Strawberry Plains, TN, her sisters-in-law, Barbara Westover Rice (Mike) and Susan (Sue) Westover (Tom) of Monroe, MI, and a plethora of nieces and nephews, great-nieces and nephews and great-great nieces and nephews.
At her request her funeral, interment and celebration of life will be private.
