Karen Sue Gerlach, age 67 of Imlay City, MI, formerly of Monroe, passed away Wednesday evening, Aug. 18th at McLaren Lapeer Region Hospital.
Born October 23, 1953 in Monroe, Karen was the daughter of Fred and Mary (Seger) Fletcher. She attended Monroe Public Schools and enjoyed being a homemaker, caregiver, painting, candle making, spending time with family, attending garage sales, and relaxing around a peaceful bonfire. On September 12, 2018, Karen married Michael R. Gerlach in Monroe.
Karen is survived by her husband Mike; mother, Mary Fletcher of Riverview, MI; two sons, Matthew Roscoe of Monroe and Joey (Kandi) Massingill of Newport, MI; two step-daughters, Ashley Gerlach and Nichole Gerlach, both of Holly, MI; sister, Kathie Kettinger of Monroe; 8 grandchildren: Matthew Roscoe, Kalea Roscoe, Mariah Roscoe, Tyee Massingill, Evan Massingill, Jayson McCutcheon, Kaelee Keinath, and Katie McCutcheon; and her "baby" pet dog, Cody.
Karen was preceded in death by her father and a granddaughter, Cienna Roscoe.
Family and friends may visit from 2 p.m. to 7 p.m. Monday, Aug. 23rd at Bacarella Funeral Home where a celebration of Karen's life will begin at 7 p.m. Rev. Roy Southerland will officiate. Cremation will follow in accordance with her wishes.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations are suggested to the Alzheimer's Association.
