Justin Todd Oakes, age 35, of Corryton, Tennessee, passed away on Sunday, January 2, 2022 at ProMedica Monroe Regional Hospital.
Justin was born April 27, 1986, in Atlanta Georgia; he is the son of Chanda J. Oakes.
He was a truck driver for Zubkoff Trucking in Erie, Michigan. He loved the freedom of being a truck driver, being able to travel and never being in the same place 2 days in a row.
Justin enjoyed building guns, he spent time in Alaska exploring the "last frontier" on his own, his dream was to one day live off the grid.
He is survived by his mother, Chanda Brown of Corryton, Tennessee; two brothers, James Allen Brown and Jordan Clay Brown; aunt, Cheryl Sutton; honorary dad and mom, Jay and Susie Kagley; honorary sisters, Delayna Franks, Kaitlynn Creswell and Brooklynn Kagley; honorary brother, Scott Franks, his constant companion and best friend, Hoss; also his boss and his family Rich, Leslie and Devon Zubkoff, they started off as employers and became his family.
Memorial donations are suggested to any organization that defends the 2nd Amendment, a cause that Justin whole heartedly believed in.
He is preceded in death by his grandparents, Gerald and Wanda Oakes.
In accordance with his wishes cremation has taken place and there will be no services at this time.
