June J. Sammons, age 64 of Monroe, passed away Saturday afternoon, March 5, 2022 at ProMedica Monroe Regional Hospital. She had been in declining health for a month.
"June Bug" as she was known by her family, was born March 12, 1957 in Portsmouth, OH. She was the daughter of Donald and Donna (Ervin) Sammons. She attended Monroe County Intermediate School District and was a member of First Christian Baptist Church in Newport. June loved her Lord and was known to be charitable to others. She liked to collect $1 bills and enjoyed gifting them to people she thought were in need. She also liked collecting purses, listening to music, and collecting can tabs for crafting purposes.
June is survived by her parents of Monroe; six siblings: Richard (Sandy) Sammons of Monroe, Angie (Tony) White of Dundee, Samantha (Anthony) Cousino of Newport, Cindy Skaggs of Monroe, Bonnie Sammons of Monroe, and Connie (Terry) Lawson of Amherst, OH; and many loving nieces and nephews.
Family and friends may visit from 2 p.m. to 8 p.m. Thursday, Mar. 10th at Bacarella Funeral Home where services will be held at 11 a.m. Friday. Rev. Mike Anson of First Christian Baptist Church will officiate followed by burial at Roselawn Memorial Park.
