June D. Beaubien, 85, of Monroe, died at 9:20 PM, Thursday, February 8, 2007 in the Mercy Memorial Hospital. She had been in poor health for a week and had entered the hospital that day. Miss Beaubien had been a resident of Maplewood Manor for the last 3 years. She was born May 24, 1921 in Monroe to Jesse F. and Beulah M. (Searfoss) Beaubien, a lifetime resident of Monroe, she attended St. John the Baptist Catholic Church grade school and was a 1939 graduate of Saint Mary Academy. She was a member of St. John's and enjoyed singing in the church choir. She like drawing, sketching, and gardening, and she was a former member of the Lenewee and Monroe Counties Foster Grandparent Association, 1985-2003, she was named the Foster Grandparent of the Year in 1994. Sadly, her parents and a brother, John D. Beaubien, preceded her in death. Friends may call Sunday at the Bacarella Funeral Home from 2-5 PM. She will lie in state Monday at St. John the Baptist Catholic Church from 12 Noon until a Mass of the Resurrection at 1 PM. Fr. Aaron DePeyster of St. Mary Catholic Church will officiate and burial will take place at St. Joseph Cemetery. Memorial gifts in her name may be given to the church or the Monroe County Intermediate School District.
