Judy L. Hammac, age 55, a life long resident of Monroe, MI passed away Wednesday, April 1, 2009 in the emergency room at Mercy Memorial Hospital after a courageous battle with cancer. Judy was born August 22, 1953 in Monroe, MI the daughter of George E. and Annabelle M. (Bogedain) Pfluge. Judy was a graduate of Jefferson High School and in 1970 she married Fuson Hammac. Judy worked as the assistant manager for Joe's French Italian Inn where she has been employed for the past 13 years. A member of Christ Lutheran Church in Monroe, Judy enjoyed working at Joe's, spending time outdoors, gardening, bright and beautiful flowers, her dog Mandy and above all her family. Judy is survived by her beloved mother and step father Annabelle M. (Shelby) Carter of Monroe; 3 loving sons; Lucky Joe (Heather) Hammac of Dundee, MI, Richard Hammac of Monroe and Ryan (Kim) Hammac of Monroe, her loving daughter in law Jeanne Timmins of Monroe, 9 cherished grandchildren; Alicia, Julie, Joe, Holly, Tony, Nathan, Mason, Austin and Haley, 2 brothers; George E. (Patty) Pfluge Jr. of Nashville, TN and Willard "Woody" T. (Cheri) Pfluge of Monroe, and her sister Dianne K. (Edward J.) Oley of Monroe. Sadly Judy was preceded in death by her father a step brother Donald Nation and an infant step sister Francis. Visitation will be held on Friday from 1-8 PM and Saturday from 10:00 AM until funeral services celebrating her life at 11:00 AM at the Bacarella Funeral Home, 1201 S. Telegraph Rd. in Monroe. The Rev. Dennis Bux pastor of Christ Lutheran Church will officiate interment will follow at Roselawn Memorial Park. Memorial contributions may be given to Christ Lutheran Church or St. Anne's Food Closet.
