Judith M. McDonald, age 55, a life long resident of Monroe, MI passed away Sunday, April 6, 2008 at 9:28 PM in her home surrounded by her loving family. Judy had been in poor health for 1 year. Judy was born June 11, 1952 in Monroe, MI the daughter of the late Joseph and Frances (Shelle) Giarmo. Judy was a 1971 graduate of Monroe High School. On June 19, 1971 Judy married John D. McDonald at St. John The Baptist Catholic Church in Monroe. Judy was a self-employed nail technician. At one time Judy worked as a teller at Monroe Bank and Trust, a volunteer at Hollywood School's Pre School Program, and was a volunteer at Heartbeat of Monroe. Judy was a member of St. John The Baptist Catholic Church and enjoyed golfing, cooking and gardening. Judy is survived by her beloved husband John, her loving children; Craig S. (Jennifer) McDonald of Toledo, OH, Colette R. (John D.) Ewing of Temperance, MI and Ashley K. McDonald of Monroe, 4 sisters; Dianna (Jeff) Lajiness of Hillsdale, MI, Yvonne "Jeri" (Jeff) Kinsey of Monroe, Marlene (Ron) Bean of Monroe, and Marilyn (Glen) Carmon of Monroe. 5 cherished and treasured grandchildren Kennedi, Colby, Myah, Tyler and Lily. Visitation will be held on Tuesday from 1-8 PM at the Bacarella Funeral Home, 1201 S. Telegraph Rd. in Monroe. On Wednesday, April 9, 2008 she will lie in state at St. John The Baptist Catholic Church from 10:00 AM until Mass of the Resurrection celebrating her life at 11:00 AM. Fr. Stephen Rooney pastor of St. Michael The Archangel Catholic Church will officiate. Interment will follow at St. Joseph Cemetery in Monroe. Memorial contributions may be given to Mercy Memorial Hospice of Monroe or Heartbeat of Monroe.
