Joslyn Juliana Jones, age 19, of Oregon, Ohio, formerly of Monroe, passed away Wednesday, February 7, 2024 due to injuries sustained in an automobile accident.
Joslyn was born December 10, 2004 in Monroe, she was the daughter of Mitchell R. Jones and Courtney E. Tyra.
She had attended North Monroe Street Church of God and Jefferson Schools where she was on the track team.
Joslyn worked as a certified nurse's assistant at Orchard Villa Nursing Home, Oregon, Ohio. She loved her job and the patients she cared for.
She was the best older sister and loved to spend time with her siblings. Joslyn enjoyed going out and spending time with her friends, especially her best friends Trista Pearson and Candence Stiffler. She also enjoyed reading and writing. Her absolute favorite food was buffalo chicken wings, her family will never eat another wing without thinking of her.
She is survived by her mom, Courtney Tyra of Monroe; her dad, Mitch (Kathryn Hubbard) Jones of Dearborn Hgts; grandparents, Faye Hammac of Monroe, Lorie Betts of Monroe, Gerald T. (Teresa Casler) Tyra of Seymore, TN, Marcia (Paul Kubala) Jones of Newport, Robert Jones of Manistee; great grandparents, Marian Tyra of Monroe, Gisla and Gary Jones of Manistee and Barbara Kubala; siblings, Ramzey Jones, Jaela Jones, Brayven Jones, Brax Jones and Trey Hubbard all of Dearborn Hgts; aunts and uncles, Curtis (Erika) Jones, Brandon Tyra, Tye Tyra, Rachel Tyra, T.J. Tyra, Arlie Tyra, Donna Jones, Joyce (Chuck) Oestrike, Ruth (Grodon) Wilds, Mary (Glen) Smith, Brian Kubala and Michael Kubala and several other extended family including cousins and great aunts and uncles.
Joslyn is preceded in death by great grandfather, Gerald A. Tyra, grandparents, William Betts and Ken and Betty Treiber; uncles, Michael Wells, Damien Treiber and aunt, Julie Cotnam.
Visitation will be held from 3 to 8 p.m. Wednesday, February 14, 2024 at Bacarella Funeral Home, 1201 S. Telegraph Road, Monroe, where funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday. Rev. Rick Massingill, pastor of North Monroe Street Church of God, will officiate. Burial will follow at Roselawn Memorial Park, LaSalle.
