Josephine V. Pope, 92 years, of Monroe, MI passed away Thursday, March 10, 2011 in the home of her daughter Jean.
Josephine was born May 18, 1918 in River Rouge, MI the daughter of the late Harry and Ida Mae (DeLisle) King.
Josephine spent much of her years living in California before moving to Monroe. Josephine was a homemaker and enjoyed caring for her family. She could often be seen walking in Downtown Monroe or along the river with her Seeing Eye dog Nina or with her daughter Jean.
Josephine is survived by 2 daughters; Jean M. Cohn of Monroe and Glenda Castle of CA, 5 grandchildren and 5 great grandchildren. In addition to her parents Josephine was preceded in death by 2 husbands; Cletus Dushane and Charles Pope, an infant son; Leonard Pope and 6 sisters.
In keeping with her wishes there will be no visitation and cremation will be held. The Bacarella Funeral Home, 1201 S. Telegraph Rd., 734-241-4600 in Monroe, MI is assisting the family with funeral arrangements.
