Joseph W. Wise, 86 years, of Monroe, MI passed away peacefully on Saturday, October 9, 2010 at Medilodge of Monroe.
Joe was born September 20, 1924 in Toledo, OH, the son of the late Charles F. and Sylvia (Wonders) Wise. Joe attended school in Toledo and was a 1942 graduate of Libbey High School. Later that year on December 22 Joe became a member of the US Navy where he served his country honorably and proudly during WWII. Joe was discharged on December 10, 1945 as a Motor Machinist's First Mate.
On July 24, 1947 in Toledo, OH Joe married his beloved wife, the former Miriam J. Hyatt. Sadly she preceded him in death early this year on April 8th. Joe and Miriam moved to Monroe in 1961.
Joe was employed by Libbey Owens Ford Glass Company as an inspector for 30 years. He retired in 1980.
Joe was a member of Moose Lodge #884 in Monroe. Joe enjoyed working in his garage, repairing air conditioners and refrigerators, and his CB Radio where he was known as "Dike Jumper".
Joe will be sadly missed by his loving family. Surviving are his 3 children; Joseph H. (Karen) Wise of Monroe, Jeanette E. Schindler of Gregory, MI and Judith (Steve) Keough of Swanton, OH and 1 cherished grandson David and (Trina) Baker of Deerfield, MI.
In keeping with Joe's wishes there will be no visitation or services. Cremation will be held and he will be interred next to his beloved wife Miriam at Roselawn Memorial Park.
