Joseph N. Bellino, Sr., 85 years, a lifelong resident of Monroe, Michigan, went home to be with the Lord on Saturday, November 23, 2024 at the Gardens of Carleton with his loving family at his side.
Born March 2, 1939 in Monroe, Joe was the son of the late Nick and Mary (Serbin) Bellino. He was baptized and confirmed at St. Joseph Parish in Monroe and was a 1957 graduate of Monroe High School, where he was an All-American Swimmer.
On October 5, 1957, Joe married the love of his life, Carolyn E. Turner.
Joe began his career in beverage service at Monroe Beverage as a truck driver, he then went on to become the Sales Manager at Bellino's Quality Beverage in Monroe, where he worked for 50 years. His final job was working for his son at Broadway Market, from which he retired in 2020.
Joe was a member of St. Michael the Archangel Catholic Church, where at one time he was a member of the parish council. Joe was also an avid supporter of Boy Scouts of America and was a Scout Master for Troup 561 in Raisinville. He was also a past president of the Raisinville Elementary School PTA. Joe enjoyed golfing, bird watching, and vacationing at the family cabin in Northern Michigan, where he spent time fishing off the dock. Joe will be remembered as a man of great faith and tireless energy. No matter how busy he was, he always found time to enjoy his children's and grandchildren's sporting events. His greatest joy was spending time with family.
Joe is survived by his beloved wife of 67 years, Carolyn, five loving children: Sen. Joseph N. (Peggy) Bellino of Monroe, Nicholas T. (Christine) Bellino of Evergreen, CO, Michael A. (Stacey) Bellino of Monroe, Mark S. (Neal) Bellino of Monroe, Corey C. (Heather) Bellino of Temperance and Grace Bellino, of Monroe, ten cherished grandchildren, seven treasured great grandchildren, and three brothers: Thomas (Kathy) Bellino, Daniel (Karen) Bellino, and Jeffery (Linda) Bellino all of Monroe.
In addition to his parents, Joe was preceded in death by two brothers: Nick and Jack.
Visitation will be held on Friday, November 29, 2024 from 3 – 8 pm at Bacarella Funeral Home, 1201 S. Telegraph Rd., Monroe, Michigan, 48161 where a Scripture Service and family sharing will begin at 7:00 pm. On Saturday, November 30, 2024 he will lie instate at St. Michael the Archangel Catholic Church in Monroe beginning at 10:00 am followed by Mass of the Resurrection celebrating Joe's life at 11:00 am. Fr. Kishore B. Battu, will be the celebrant. Entombment will follow at St. Joseph Cemetery in Monroe.
