Rev. Johnny E. Bussell, age 87 of Dundee, MI, passed away Thursday, October 24, 2024 in his home.
Born April 29, 1937 in Harrogate, TN, Johnny was the son of the late William and Ollie (Williams) Bussell. He married Bobbie L. Sandifer on June 24, 1955 in Tazewell, TN and served his country in the U.S. Army from Aug. 16, 1960 until being honorably discharged on July 30, 1962.
Johnny was employed by Ford Motor Company at the Monroe Stamping Plant for over 36 years before retiring in 1996. He also served as Pastor for several Baptist churches in Monroe County for many years.
Johhny was a member of Calvary Baptist Church in Milan, MI, life member of Monroe Lodge 27 Free and Accepted Masons, and the Scottish Rite, 32nd Degree of Freemasonry.
Johnny is survived by his wife of 69 years, Bobbie Bussell; daughter, Tamera (Ronald) Morgan of Monroe; sister, Ruth (Thurman) Lambert of S. Rockwood, MI; two grandchildren, Zachary (Alexandrea) Morgan and Johnna (Jason) Schultz; two great-grandchildren, Mila and Oliver; and sister-in-law, Shirley Bussell of Monroe.
In addition to his parents, Johnny was preceded in death by a daughter, Amy Rice; brother, William Bussell.
Family and friends may visit from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m. Tuesday, Oct. 29th at Bacarella Funeral Home where services will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday. Johnny's son-in-law, Rev. Ronald Morgan will officiate with military honors provided by Monroe VFW Post 1138. Burial will follow at Riverside Cemetery in S. Rockwood, MI.
