John S. Pipis, Jr., age 58 of Monroe, passed away unexpectedly Thursday, July 4, 2024 after becoming ill while attending a family gathering.
Born August 25, 1965 in Jacksonville, FL, John was the son of John and Beatrice (Russeau) Pipis, Sr. He graduated from Monroe High School in 1984 and was a graduate of Lawrence Technological University. On May 18, 1990, John married Ann Pfeilsticker at St. Michael Catholic Church, and together they raised two children.
John was currently employed by Caterpillar as a Mechanical Engineer and other capacities for the past 26 years. He was an Astronomy enthusiast and an overall handyman. He especially liked working on cars and motorcycles. In his spare time, he enjoyed bicycling and going for walks.
John is survived by his wife Ann; two sons, Joseph of Wylie, TX and Jacob of Monroe; three siblings, Michael (Callistia) Pipis of Monroe, Renee (Jeff) Axt of Bloomfield Hills, MI, and Betzi (Henry) Lievens of Lambertville, MI.
Visitation will be from 10 a.m. until 1 p.m. Wednesday, July 10th at Bacarella Funeral Home. Following the visitation, there will be a procession to St. Joseph Cemetery where Deacon Mike Stewart will preside at a graveside service prior to burial. All are welcome to attend.
The family would like to acknowledge the following individuals and organizations for their care and efforts: Corewell Health Trenton Hospital, Ash Township Fire Department, Monroe County Sheriff's Department, 911 Dispatcher Carly Parker, Monroe Community Ambulance, and especially John's two nephews, Alex and Adam Hurley of LMR Volunteer Fire Department for rendering aid.
