John J. "Jack" Tresnan, age 87 of Monroe, passed away Friday, June 23, 2023 in his home. He passed peacefully in his favorite chair, with a cat in his lap, book in his hand, and a beer on the end table.
Born October 6, 1935 in Detroit, MI, Jack was the son of the late Frank and Anna (Greer) Tresnan. He enlisted in the U.S. Marine Corp. and served from May 18, 1956 until being honorably discharged on April 15, 1959. Jack married Judy L. (Vandegrift) Miller on September 19, 1992 in Monroe.
Jack was employed as a Foreman by Ford Motor Company in Monroe for 23 years. He then worked as a delivery person for Nickles Bakery in Monroe for 15 years where he served as a Teamsters Union Steward before retiring in 2000.
Jack was a member of Moose Lodge 884 and former board member. He enjoyed reading, his pet cats, watching Fox News, tending to their pool and being Judy's "Pool Boy". He had an outgoing personality and a great sense of humor.
Jack is survived by his wife; 6 children: Donna (Keith) Germain of Bradenton, FL, Cynthia (Keith) Douthit of Ashville, NC, John Tresnan, Jr. of Huntsville, AL, Patrick Tresnan of Knoxville, TN, Jennifer Tresnan of Springhill, FL, and Mary (Billy) Cameron of Knoxville, TN; 2 step-children: Jill (Cary) Barron of Rockton, IL and Renee (Kenny Smith) Cicero of Monroe; 19 grandchildren and 22 great-grandchildren.
In addition to his parents, Jack was preceded in death by a daughter, Cheryl Tresnan-Reighard; brother, Peter Tresnan; sister, Frances Sheroian; infant twin grandsons, Dylan and Drew Barron; and granddaughter, Joslyn Garrity.
Family and friends may visit from 2 p.m. to 7 p.m. Tuesday, June 27th at Bacarella Funeral Home where services will be held at 10 a.m. Wednesday. Cremation will follow with interment at Roselawn Memorial Park at a later date.
