Jody (Wojcik) Westmeier, age 64, of Westland, MI, passed away Sunday, June 28, 2009 at 8:36 AM in Tendercare of Monroe. Jody has lived in Monroe since becoming ill in April. Jody was born February 11, 1945 in Detroit, MI the daughter of the late Jessie F. and Elenor R. (Krumling) Westmeier. Jody was a 1962 graduate of Lutheran High West in Detroit, MI. She was employed as a bookkeeper for 15 years at Star Contracting and for several months at Boliven Tiano in Plymouth. Jody was active in the Huron Valley Girl Scouts, a staunch Republican, an avid supporter of the US Veterans and loved animals. Jody most of all enjoyed time spent with family. Jody is survived by two beloved children; Nicole M. Wilson of Monroe and Ryan M. Wojcik of Palm Springs, CA, and 2 cherished grandchildren Nicholas T. and Christian M. Wilson. Visitation will be held on Tuesday from 3-8 PM in the Bacarella Funeral Home, 1201 S. Telegraph Rd in Monroe, where funeral services celebrating her life will be held at 11:00 AM on Wednesday, July 1, 2009. Sister Kate O'Brien Chaplain of Mercy Memorial Hospice will officiate. Cremation will follow. Memorial contributions may be given to Jody's family and they will in turn donate the money to her favorite charities.
