Obituary

Joann M. Stoner, 82 years, a lifelong resident of Monroe, Michigan, peacefully went home to be with the Lord, on Friday, February 21, 2025, in her home, with her family by her side.
Born January 28, 1943, in Monroe, Joann was the daughter of the late Austin M. and Mary M. (Orick) Turner. She attended Monroe Public Schools.
On July 9, 1975, Joann married her beloved husband, Norman Lee Stoner, in Toledo, OH. Sadly, he preceded her in death on October 10, 2020, after 45 years of marriage.
Joann was a wonderful homemaker and enjoyed caring for her family. She did work outside her home as a housekeeper at the Mall of Monroe and for Walmart for several years.
Joann enjoyed playing Bingo, watching the Detroit Tigers, traveling with her sisters, and watching her grandchildren's sporting events. Most of all Joann loved time spent with family.
Joann is survived by two loving sons: Randy (Dana) Bussell of Erie, and Jon Bussell of Monroe, ten cherished grandchildren: Ryan (Kari) Bussell, Brandon Bussell, Ray Kruse, IV, Alesha (Don) Brown, Laura Lawson, Brianna (Mark) Silcox, Joshua (Brittany) Bussell, Evana Daily, Katre'ana Daily, and Rachel (Matt) Vonotten, and 31 treasured great grandchildren.
In addition to her parents and husband, Joann was preceded in death by a daughter, Angela Jo Stoner; all seven of her siblings and their spouses: Hazel (Huie) Leach, Ada Turner, Mildred (Ted) Hawkins, Doyle (Maggie) Turner, Hoyle (Thelma) Turner, and Kenneth and Junior Turner.
Visitation will be held on Friday from 2 – 8 pm at Bacarella Funeral Home, 1201 S. Telegraph Rd., Monroe, Michigan, 48161, where funeral services celebrating Joann's life will be held on Saturday, March 1, 2025, at 11:00 am. The Rev. B.J. McDaniel, pastor of One Way Christian Fellowship Church, will officiate. Joann will be interred next to husband at Roselawn Memorial Park.
Memorial contributions are suggested to an Autism foundation of the donor's choice.
