JoAnn Muir, age 83, of Monroe passed away Friday, February 10, 2023 at Ebeid Hospice Residence, Sylvania.
JoAnn was born April 17, 1939 in Powell, Tennessee; she was the daughter of Roscoe and Alta (Moore) DeFord. She was raised by her mother and stepfather, Reaford Parker. She married Kenneth C. Muir September 26, 1959.
JoAnn was a member of Holy Ghost Lutheran Church and the Ladies Aide Society.
She enjoyed bowling and going to lunch with her friends, playing dominoes and cards. She loved her family and the time spent with them, especially her grandchildren.
JoAnn is survived by her husband of 63 years, Ken; two children, Gregory K. (Jennifer) Muir of Ida and Lisa A. Muir of Adrian; two brothers, Roy Dean Parker of Monroe and James R. (Deanna) Parker of Traverse City; eight grandchildren, Brooke (Shawn) Cox, Bailey (Deonte Patterson) Osborne, Brianna Osborne, Tayler Jacob, Kayla Muir, Ava Muir, Kennan Muir and Hanna (Evan Bolster) Muir; three great grandchildren, Shawn, Bryce and Malani.
She is preceded in death by her parents; stepfather; sister, Vivian Jones; twin infant grandsons, Austin and Clayton Muir.
Visitation will be held from 3 to 8 p.m. Tuesday, February 14, 2023 at Bacarella Funeral Home, 1201 S. Telegraph Rd., Monroe, where funeral services will be held at 1 p.m. Wednesday. Rev. D. Lee Cullen, Jr., pastor of Holy Ghost Lutheran Church, will officiate. Burial will follow at Gethsemane Cemetery, Monroe.
