Jerry L. LaVigne, age 62 of Monroe, passed away at 10:01 a.m. Sunday, July 11th in his home with his family at his side.
Born August 20, 1958 in Monroe, Jerry was the son of Eugene and Mildred (Commett) LaVigne. He graduated from Dundee High School in 1976 and the National Institute of Technology in 1984. On July 26, 1980, Jerry married Patricia J. McDonald at St. John the Baptist Catholic Church where they are current members.
Jerry was employed by Grosse Ile Sheet Metal and was a member of Sheet Metal Local 80 for 22 years. He then started his own business, J.L. Seamless Gutters in 1999 and retired in 2008.
An avid hunter, fisherman, and fan of University of Michigan football and basketball, Jerry also enjoyed trips to the casino and traveling with his wife.
Jerry is survived by his wife Patty; daughter, Sarah (Marc) Boghosian of Carleton; mother, Mildred Navarre of Monroe; brother, Ricky (Deborah) LaVigne of Temperance; three step-brothers, Ron, Jeff, and Blake Navarre; and many in-laws, nieces, nephews, and cousins.
Jerry was preceded in death by his father, Eugene; sister, Sally Fritzler; and a brother, Eugene.
Family and friends may visit from 2 p.m. to 8 p.m. Wednesday at Bacarella Funeral Home where the Rosary will be recited at 4:30 p.m. Jerry will lie in state at 10:30 a.m. Thursday at St. John Catholic Church. Mass of the Resurrection will be celebrated at 11:30 a.m. by Rev. Fr. David Burgard and assisted by Deacon Mike Stewart. Burial will follow at St. Joseph Cemetery.
