Jerry Arcabascio, age 83 of Monroe, passed away Sunday, October 23, 2022 at ProMedica Monroe Regional Hospital.
Born May 16, 1939 in Borgetto, Palermo, Sicily, Jerry was the son of the late Michele and Francesca (Bacarella) Arcabascio. On June 15, 1963, he married Maria D'Arrigo in Borgetto. She preceded him in death on August 17, 2017.
Jerry worked as a cement mason for Perna Construction and continued to work well into retirement. He enjoyed gardening and tending to his fig tree, in addition to wine making.
Jerry is survived by a daughter, Francesca (Eden) Kelley of Dundee, MI; brother, Vito Arcabascio; and sister, Maria (John) Merritt of Newport, MI.
In addition to his parents and wife, Jerry was also preceded in death by a brother, Salvatore Arcabascio.
Family and friends may visit from 2 p.m. to 7 p.m. Wednesday, Oct. 26th at Bacarella Funeral Home where a scripture service will be held at 6:30 p.m. Jerry will lie in state at 10 a.m. Thursday at St. John Catholic Church, followed by the Mass of the Resurrection at 11 a.m. by Rev. Fr. David Burgard.
In lieu of flowers, the family is requesting donations to support Catholic Charities of Southeast Michigan in the name of Jerry Arcabascio.
