Jerilane Collins, 65 years, of Monroe, MI passed away Tuesday, November 17, 2009 at 6:55 PM in the Emergency Room at Mercy Memorial Hospital. Jerilane had been in declining health for the past 3 months. Born December 9, 1943 in Bell County, KY Jerilane was the youngest of 13 children from the union of the late Clarence and Nellie May (Guy) Lowe. Jerilane moved to Monroe in 1965 where she met, fell in love with and on June 18, 1965 in Monroe, married James T. (Caveman) Collins. Sadly he preceded her in death on December 8, 1997. A loving and caring homemaker Jerilane was all about her family. Jerilane is survived by 4 loving children; Melinda M. (Anthony) Elmer of Dundee, Danny (Sue) Collins of Monroe, Joey (Toni) Collins of New Boston and Tyler (Mandy) Collins of Monroe, 14 cherished grandchildren, 7 treasured great grandchildren and a sister Josephine (Wesley) Brummitt of Speedwell, TN. In addition to her parents and husband Jerilane was preceded in death by 2 infant daughters Linda and Patricia, and 11 brothers and sisters. Visitation will be held on Friday from 2-8 PM in the Bacarella Funeral Home, 1201 S. Telegraph Rd in Monroe, where funeral services celebrating her life will be held on Saturday, November 21, 2009 at 10:00 AM. Minister James Barnes of Church of Christ will officiate. Interment will follow in Historic Woodland Cemetery.
