Jenise D. Miller, age 75, of Monroe, passed away Sunday, September 6, 2026 at Corewell Health Trenton after a brief illness.

Jenise was born June 15, 1951 in Monroe, she was the daughter of Lloyd and Dorothy (Kohler) Pfund. She married Marvin L. Miller September 18, 1971, they had celebrated their 54th wedding anniversary before his passing January 10, 2026.

She was a 1969 graduate of Monroe High School. She was baptized and confirmed at St. Paul Lutheran Church, Monroe, she was currently a member of Zion Lutheran Church.

Jenise was a receptionist at Dr. Douglas Atwater DDS office for many years before her retirement.

Jenise enjoyed her girls yearly birthdays trips, vacations like Disney, Mexico, Frankenmuth and going to her granddaughters travel softball games. Most of all she loved to FaceTime her girls and surprise pop in visits in the evenings. She valued her family more than anything and always made her girls feel loved.

She enjoyed keeping a clean house, neat yard and making Christmas cookies. She also loved her dice with friends Yahtzee game, enough to stop every hour in downtown Chicago to play the “turkey trot”.

She is survived by her daughter, Michelle (Shane) Freeman of Monroe; two granddaughters; Mikayla (Tyler) Shope and McKenna Freeman; great granddaughter, who made Jenise a Gigi, Adley; two siblings, Mary Ellen Gerweck and Lloyd (Roxanne), Pfund both of Monroe and four nephews and their families.

In addition to her husband, she is preceded in death by her father; mother, Dorothy Ball; three sisters, Dolores Bathgate, Janice Borrosch and Barbara Meyer and two nephews, Dale Meyer and Michael Bathgate.

Visitation will be held from 3 to 8 p.m. Thursday, September 10, 2026 at Bacarella Funeral Home, 1201 S. Telegraph Rd., Monroe, where services will be held at 1 p.m. Friday, the family asks that you honor Jenise’s memory by wearing her favorite color pink to the service. Burial will follow at Roselawn Memorial Park, LaSalle.
