Jeanne Marie Bryant, age 67 of Monroe, passed away Wednesday, November 2, 2022 at her home.
Born April 16, 1955 in Monroe, Jeanne was the daughter of Ezra and Betty (Vajcner) McLaughlin. She graduated from Monroe High School in 1973 and married her childhood sweetheart, Earl Leroy Bryant on April 21, 1973 in Monroe. He preceded her in death on April 4, 2021.
Jeanne had a variety of jobs during her life. She was employed by Frenchtown Nursing Care Center, Monroe Bridal Aisle, Ida Public Schools, and Lake Erie Transit. She also operated a daycare and seamstress business in her home.
Jeanne enjoyed baking, sewing, gardening hosting events in her home, attending Detroit Tiger Baseball games, and spending time with her neighbors, friends, and family. She was her grandchildren's number one fan when attending their sporting events and embraced being known as "Gunka" by her grandchildren and countless other kids who loved her.
Jeanne is survived by 3 children, Sara (James) Breeding of Toledo, OH, Eric (Becky) Bryant of Hale, MI, and Steven (Dawn) Bryant of Monroe; mother, Betty McLaughlin of Monroe; 11 siblings: Ed (Barb) McLaughlin of Monroe, Karen (Ed) Younglove of Monroe, Ron McLaughlin of Monroe, Mary (Dr. Marty) Drozdowicz of Monroe, Jerry (Patty) McLaughlin of Maybee, Connie McLaughlin of Newport, Joe (Lisa) McLaughlin of Monroe, Mike (Tammy) Oley of Monroe, Tom (Leslie) Oley of Monroe, Kim Swihart of Monroe, John (Carla) McLaughlin of Dundee; 7 grandchildren: Zechariah (Kathryn) Breeding of Dundee, Brandon Breeding of Temperance, Joel (Lani Dunn) Breeding of Monroe, Landon Bryant of Monroe, Danielle (Mike) Clayton of Tecumseh, Lauren (Chase) Stewart of Tecumseh, Matthew Prueter of Hale, MI; 2 great-grandchildren, Fisher and Saylor of Dundee and one more on the way; step-mother, Sue (Sharp) McLaughlin; and her beloved sisters-in-law, Sherlene Bryant, Doreen Walker, Janie Coleman, and Marie McLaughlin.
In addition to her husband Earl, Jeanne was also preceded in death by her father, Ezra "Mac" McLaughlin; brother, David McLaughlin; father-in-law and mother-in-law, Clifford and Barbara Bryant; and brother-in-law, Harley Walker.
Family and friends may visit from 1 p.m. until service at 7 p.m. Monday, Nov. 7th at Bacarella Funeral Home. Rev. Rick Massingill, pastor of North Monroe Street Church of God will officiate. Private burial will be attended by family at Roselawn Memorial Park.
