Janie Lloyd, 81 years, of Monroe, MI passed away Monday, March 31, 2008 at 11:45 AM at Tendercare of Monroe. Janie had been in poor health for 3 months. Janie was born September 25, 1926 in Harrogate, TN the daughter of the late William Preston and Mossie (Hatfield) Cosby. Janie moved to the Monroe area in the 1940's from Tennessee. Janie worked as a nurse's aid for 26 years at Riverside Hospital in Trenton, MI from which she retired in 1989. Janie was also a homemaker and was a member of Evergreen Acres Missionary Baptist Church. Janie enjoyed gardening and her family, she especially enjoyed her 10 cherished grandchildren and her 9 treasured great grandchildren. Janie is survived by 6 loving children Danny Ray O'Dell of Knoxville, TN, Donald E. (Malissa) O'Dell of Carleton, MI, Charlotte A. Truax of Corbin, KY, Debbie (Mike) Greene of Knoxville, TN, Sheila K. McLennon of Monroe, MI and Theresa M. (Lee) Baynard of New Boston, MI. In addition to her parents Janie was preceded in death by a son Johnny O'Dell and her brothers and sisters. Visitation will be held on Thursday, April 3, 2008 from 1-8 PM in the Bacarella Funeral Home, 1201 S. Telegraph Rd. Monroe, MI, where funeral services celebrating her life will be held at 6:00 PM. The Rev. Eddie Howard of Evergreen Acres Missionary Baptist Church will officiate. Janie will then be taken to Coffey Funeral Home in Tazewell, TN where visitation will be held on Saturday, April 5, 2008 from 10:00 AM until funeral services at 2:00 PM. The Rev. Mike Greene, Janie's son in law, will officiate. Interment will follow at Poplar Grove Cemetery in Harrogate, TN. Memorial contributions may be given to Evergreen Acres Missionary Baptist Church or Mercy Memorial Hospice of Monroe.
