Janice Vitale, 70 years, a lifelong resident of Monroe, Michigan, went home to be with the Lord on Sunday, December 5, 2021 in her home with her loving family at her side.
Born February 3, 1951 in Monroe, Janice was the daughter of the late Lawrence F. and Vera (White) Mulpas. She was a 1969 graduate of Monroe High School, where she sang in the school choir.
On March 29, 1969, Janice married her beloved husband Antonino Vitale at Zion Lutheran Church in Monroe.
Janice worked as a ward secretary for Mercy Hospital and as a manager at Alice Lorraine Care Center. She, along with her husband Tony, owned and operated Vitale's Pizza in Monroe for many years.
Janice was a wonderful homemaker and enjoyed cooking, baking cookies and bread, and keeping her home décor up to date. She also enjoyed music, dancing, and flower gardening.
Janice will be remembered as a kind and caring, wife, mother, and grandmother, with a contagious laugh, the most beautiful smile and gave the best hugs ever.
Janice is survived by her beloved husband of 52 years, Tony, three loving children: Anthony (Wendy) Vitale, Joseph L. Vitale, and Franchesca (Anthony) Elmes, all of Monroe, four cherished grandchildren: Antonio and Sophia Elmes and Taylor and Mara Vitale, and a brother Larry (Kathy) Mulpas of Monroe.
In addition to her parents, Janice was preceded in death by a sister, Diane Loughridge.
Visitation will be held on Thursday from 2-8 pm at Bacarella Funeral Home, 1201 S. Telegraph Rd., Monroe, Michigan, 48161 where funeral services celebrating her life will be held on Friday, December 10, 2021 at 11:00 am. Fred G. Swank, Jr. will officiate. Interment will follow at Roselawn Memorial Park.
