Obituary

Janice M. Busenbark, age 82, of Monroe, passed away Monday, August 24, 2026 at Gardens of Carleton.

Janice was born on January 2, 1944 in Monroe, she was the daughter of Thomas and Estella (Weiss) Beamish. She married Leonard A. Busenbark February 1, 1964 at St. Patrick Church in Carleton; they had just celebrated their 57th anniversary before Leonard’s passing February 11, 2021.

Jan was a 1961 graduate of Monroe High School and a member of Divine Grace Parish. She and Leonard were members of the Pony Pulling Assoc. and Southern Draft Horse Assoc. and enjoyed going to pulling events. She loved spending time with her family, especially with her grandchildren.

She worked in the St. Patrick Church office for 22 years, she then was the office assistant at Marion Place for 20 years before her retirement in 2006.

She is survived by he four sons, Thomas (Jennifer Jo) Busenbark of Sumner, MI, James (Rebecca) Busenbark of Monroe, Richard (Jennifer) Busenbark of Whittaker, MI and John (Michelle) Busenbark of Elmira; eight grandchildren, Christopher (Mandy), Brandy (Chris), Nicole, DJ, Trevor, Michael (Rianna), Hunter (Avery and Austin and ten great grandchildren.

In addition to her husband, she is preceded in death by her parents and a daughter-in-law, Kimberly Busenbark.

Visitation will be held from 2 to 8 p.m. Thursday, August 27, 2026 at Bacarella Funeral Home, 1201 S. Telegraph Rd., Monroe, where the Rosary will be prayed at 6 p.m. She will lie instate Friday, August 28, 2026 at 10 a.m. at Divine Grace Parish, Carleton Campus with Mass of the Resurrection at 11 a.m. entombment will follow at St. Joseph Cemetery, Monroe.

Memorial contributions in Jan’s honor are suggested to Divine Grace Parish.
